COHHIO Membership
Our members have helped us gain tremendous clout in the Ohio legislature. This recognition has fueled the momentum to propel us forward on several advocacy fronts. Here are some of our recent accomplishments:
- Work in a bipartisan manner to help craft and pass the Ohio Homebuyers' Protection Act (also known as SB 185), hailed as Ohio's most significant consumer protection legislation since the enactment of the Consumer Sales Practices Act in 1974
- Launch OhioVOTES, a statewide voter registration effort that engages nonprofits to increase voter participation while advocating for unencumbered voting rights. Protecting voting rights and voting access for Ohio's underrepresented populations will consume much of our time over the next few months and beyond as we mobilize OhioVOTES to become a year-round program
- Play a major role in opposing the poorly designed TEL/TABOR amendment. COHHIO's legal challenges helped get the measure removed from the November ballot
- Increase funding for the Ohio Housing Trust Fund from $45 million to $53 million per year for the next two years
Please join or renew your COHHIO membership today. Our organization demonstrates again and again its value in helping bring about change throughout our state.
